Artist Statement

My work is rooted in a lifelong passion for mid-century design and influenced by the Modernist painters I most admire – Paul Klee, Joan Miro, Wassily Kandinsky and Willem de Kooning.

My art is about energy, movement and juxtaposition. I use subdued palettes and
geometric shapes to create work where balance, harmony and symmetry intersect with raw, imperfect and distressed. My goal is to make dramatic, graphic statements that are polished and sophisticated, yet informal and approachable.

White is a dominant force throughout my portfolio delivering tranquility and cohesion and providing neutral backgrounds where splashes of rich, curated colors can attract the

attention they deserve.

To achieve my signature style, I’ve developed proprietary layering techniques using unconventional tools including brushwork, stamping, printing, stenciling, and sanding.
